General Meeting Minutes

Wednesday April 15, 2009, 6:00 pm meeting

 

 

Executive Board Members Present:, Chris Kowrach - Secretary/Treasurer, Colleen Loo, Don Chrystal, Laura McConnell,

 

Executive Board Members Absent: Jana Townsend - President (Excused), Theresa Holmes, Vice President

 

Advisory Board Members Present, Holden Nelson, Josi McConnell-Soong - Vice President,

 

Advisory Board Members Absent: (None excused) John Liedkie - President, Alec Henson - Secretary, Krystle Stick, Miranda Stick, Andy Holmes - Photographer, Brandi Cayler

 

General Membership Present: Chris Loo

 

 

1.     Laura called the meeting to order at 6:13 p.m.

 

2.     The minutes of Feb. 19, 2009 were accepted as written.

 

3.     The treasurer reported there is a cash balance total of $275.94 with no activity.

 

4.     Administrative & Committee Reports:

a)     501 (c) (3) application Update: Chris reported the application was put in the top category for the review process with it being the most complete upon the initial review.  A determination is expected in mid-May.

 

5.     Advisory Board Reporting:

a)     Acquiring/confirming youth members e-mail address report: (Brandi not present)

b)    Youth Recruitment ideas: provide food, get parents involved to make a family event, sell idea at an assembly to parents, Soph. & Jr.’s sell idea of community service for college.

c)     Advisory Board Nominations: By consensus Holden Nelson is president with the other officers to be determined in the fall.

 

6.     Old Business:

a)     Project/Random Act of Kindness/Awards: Holden changed in the oil in his Mom’s car, Chris Loo helped a farmer, and Chris Kowrach made library flower arrangements.

b)    Update Kendrick Sidewalk Sweep: Postponed

c)     Update Ed Corkill Memorial Trail RR sign renovation: Rescheduled to June 2009

d)    Update Juliaetta Community Library Spring Cleaning: Canceled

e)     Spring Highway Trash Pick up: Scheduled for Wed. April 22, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at the Juliaetta Community Library.

 

7.     New Business:

a)     It is with sadness we accepted Andy and Theresa Holmes submitted resignations due to their involvement with car racing occupying all of their time.  They both provided commendable and long lasting contributions to Pug Marks and our community.

b)    Board of Directors Meeting: Wed. May 6, 2009 at Noon - 3:00 with each bringing a component of a Mexican lunch at Don Chrystal’s house.

c)     Community Garden

                      I.    Garden Location: Don Chrystal’s house with raspberries being off limits.

                     II.    Don is additionally generously providing the water at no charge and he will have it rototilled soon.

                    III.    Don also has some soaker hoses for our use.

                   IV.    Don is not able to do any physical work on this project.

                    V.    Josi & Holden will tap specific Juliaetta high school students for participation in the garden needs as a community service project over the summer.

                   VI.    Other details will be discussed at the Board of Directors Meeting.

 

8.     Other:

a)     Chris Loo spoke of the Juliaetta Elem. School Academic Fair (Thurs. April 30th).  As a parent/youth attended function it was determined we should participate focusing on recruitment by getting on the circuit of tables where cards need to be stamped for prizes.
